Exhibition of the JenErgieReal real-world laboratory
presented by the City of Jena
What will the energy supply of tomorrow look like - and what is already a reality in Jena today? How can cities be supplied with sustainable, secure and affordable energy? And how can the energy transition in urban areas succeed in concrete terms - technically, economically and socially? The exhibition ENERGY - WHAT MOVES US by the city of Jena is dedicated to these questions.

Platform on the Engelplatz
Visitors can discover at a glance where the energy innovations of the JenErgieReal real-world laboratory are already being implemented on a 100 m² walk-in abstract map of Jena. Short information texts and graphics explain the technical innovations at the individual locations. QR codes provide more in-depth insights into the measures and show how they are integrated into the real-world laboratory of the energy transition in Jena. The platform is accessible around the clock.

EnergyLab
The EnergieLabor, the central showroom of the ENERGIE - WAS UNS BEWEGT exhibition, is located in the middle of the city center at Löbderstraße 6. On 217 m², findings and innovations from the JenErgieReal real laboratory can be experienced here - from intelligent charging infrastructure to heat utilization in buildings, energy storage and sector coupling to the networking of decentralized energy systems and grid components in the virtual power plant. Visitors can discover these innovative technologies, understand how they work and find out how they contribute to a sustainable energy supply. At the same time, the EnergyLab provides insights into the background to the energy transition - from the history of energy use and the impact on the climate and environment to the specific climate effects in Jena. Visitors can also discover concrete opportunities to help shape the future: from reducing their own carbon footprint to exploring new professional fields and getting involved in society. The EnergyLab combines exhibition, experience and hands-on stations to create a place for new perspectives, exchange and active participation.

Energy innovations in urban space - eight locations of the JenErgieReal real-world laboratory
The exhibition ENERGY - WHAT MOVES US not only brings the innovations of the JenErgieReal real-world laboratory to life in the EnergyLab and at Engelplatz, but also locates them directly in the urban space. At eight locations in Jena, concrete measures are presented that are being tested as part of the real-world laboratory. The locations cover different areas of the urban energy system - from residential buildings and mobility to grid infrastructure and heat generation. A stele at each location provides information about the respective technical innovation. QR codes also offer the opportunity to call up further information and background details.
