Exhibition by the JenErgieReal Real-World Lab, presented by the City of Jena

The exhibition ENERGY – WHAT MOVES US showcases insights and innovative solutions from the JenErgieReal Energy Transition Real-World Lab and demonstrates how Jena’s future energy supply is already taking shape today. At various locations throughout the city—on the platform at Engelplatz, at eight innovation sites, and at the Energy Lab at Löbderstraße 6—it invites you to discover, understand, and help shape the energy transition. The exhibition ENERGY – WHAT MOVES US is aimed at a broad audience: from young people and students to interested members of the city’s community, as well as experts from the fields of science, politics, and industry.
EnergieLabor
Located right in the heart of downtown Jena, at Löbderstraße 6, is the EnergieLabor—the central showroom for the exhibition ENERGY—WHAT MOVES US. Here, visitors can discover insights and innovations from the JenErgieReal real-world energy transition laboratory, understand the challenges of the energy transition, and learn how they themselves can help shape the future of energy.

The Energy Lab demonstrates how smart charging infrastructure, heat utilization, energy storage, sector coupling, and a virtual power plant work, and how these technologies contribute to a sustainable energy supply. At the same time, visitors gain insights into the background of the energy transition—from the history of energy use to its impacts on the climate and environment, all the way to the specific climate effects in Jena. In addition, the EnergyLab highlights concrete ways to get involved: from reducing one’s own carbon footprint to exploring new career paths and engaging in social activism.

The EnergyLab combines exhibitions, interactive stations, and hands-on activities into a space for new perspectives, exchange, and active participation.
